The Sr Technical Project Manager is a key member of the project team responsible for coordinating the successful delivery of equipment and installation of Itron products.
Utilizing defined processes and tools to ensure that each customer site/project is delivered and installed on time; and is complete to meet the customer's expectations and in accordance with the documented scope of work.
Leads day-to-day delivery by service team(s) for outsourced solutions to clients.
Oversees technical aspects of the project and is responsible for coordination with vendors and subcontractors.
Ensures continuous and effective services are provided and project completion is within budget and in accordance with contract requirements.
Identifies areas where continuous improvement can be applied.
Job Duties &
Responsibilities:
Identify installation risks, escalate and implement risk mitigation strategies Recognize, document, and implement process/project improvements Proficient in contract review and adept at drafting Statements of Work (SOWs) Create installation scheduling requests and ensure that all customer installation/deployment activity is scheduled and completed to the customer's satisfaction Coordinate post-startup activities.

) Identify out of scope activities and communicate to internal and external stakeholders Coordinate with vendors as needed for delivery of equipment or services Escalate issues with maintaining the rollout schedule, as needed, and manage to closure Ensure any necessary billing data is provided to the appropriate parties Establishes and maintains communications with project team Provide updates to the project status
Experience:
This position requires a minimum of 3 years of direct large scale, multi-phase project management, preferably for deployment of wireless telecommunications networks.
Selected candidate will be immediately responsible for field device deployment (estimated duration:
18 months) with ability to manage enterprise scale software system deployment (in addition to hardware deployments) in the future.
Demonstrated leadership, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
The successful candidate will be able to describe multiple business situations where these skills were leveraged.
Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks and concurrent projects.
Itron's networks are in great demand and the PM must be able to coordinate multiple projects in varying degrees of deployment.
Experience in personal computer operations and use of word processing, project management, spreadsheet programs plus experience with off-the-shelf and special-purpose test programs.
Microsoft Project is Itron's standard project management application.
Experience and knowledge of gas, water and electric utility meter reading and related distribution automation technologies is desirable.
Technical training and knowledge of radio frequency equipment used in planning and installing radio network equipment and multiple wired/wireless wide area networks is also desirable.
Advanced knowledge of the software development lifecycle and experience managing third-party development teams is highly preferred.
Experience with GIS, CIS and other utility systems is highly desirable.
Must possess above average written and verbal communication skills.
Education:
Bachelor's degree required.
Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline, preferred.
Advanced degree desired, MBA preferred.
Equivalent experience may be considered.
Travel:
