79 an hour 20 hours ago 20 hours ago 20 hours ago The City of Liberty Lake is seeking an experienced Recreation Coordinator to plan, organize and coordinate a community recreation program for seniors, adults, and youth.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

) A.
Plans, organizes, and implements a wide spectrum or programs, seasonal community special events, and recreational activities for children and adults.
B.
Prepares a variety of brochures, calendars, letters, posters, news releases, flyers, and related communications.
C.
Responds to public inquiries about recreation programs made by telephone, correspondence, or during public meetings.
D.
May manage sports programs including scheduling games and umpires, as well as various tournaments throughout the year.
E.
Maintains regular communication and coordination with outside organizations as they relate to recreation programs.
F.
In conjunction with the Operations and Maintenance Director, develops the recreation portion of the annual budget and participates in discussions related to capital expenditures for the recreation program.
G.
Formulates appropriate policies, procedures, and contracts related to the recreation program for department head approval.
H.
Assists in the planning and management of any concession related activities, including design, layout, operation, inventory, contracting, and staffing.
I.
Assists with planning and development of long-range goals for the department, including recommendations for new facilities and programs.
J.
Orders and maintains inventories of supplies and equipment for programs.
K.
Administers contracts and schedules for recreation and officials for various programs as directed.
L.
Assists with coordination of fundraising activities and sponsorships that contribute towards successful recreation programs.
M.
The OPS & Maintenance Supervisor is expected to perform all duties and responsibilities as described, in a professional and appropriate manner that is reflective of the Mission, Vision and Values of the City of Liberty Lake.
In addition to these expectations, other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Required Credentials:
A.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
B.
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in recreation, gerontology, leisure studies, or a closely related field.
C.
Possession of a valid driver's license.
Required
Experience:
I.
Five years of relevant experience in coordinating recreation programs or related experience.
II.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Ability To:
A.
Possess current knowledge of issues, trends, and interests for the area and age group assignment.
B.
Coordinate varied activities involved in community recreation programs.
C.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other agencies, participants, and the general public.
D.
Communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Upon the adoption of the annual budget, the City of Liberty Lake contributes a predetermined dollar amount to the employee's HRA VEBA account on an annual basis.
RETIREMENT BENEFITS Public Employees' Retirement System:
PERS Employees' Retirement System (PERS) is a plan choice retirement plan (PERS 2 or PERS 3) covering non-uniformed employees.
Deferred Compensation 401A:
A predetermined percentage of each check will be contributed to this plan.
457:
This is a voluntary plan that employees can contribute an additional dollar amount or a percentage of each check.
PAID TIME OFF City of Liberty Lake observes eleven (11) paid holidays, prorated based on hire date.
Thirty-two (32) hours of floating holiday are provided each year; however, the hours are prorated based on the quarter hired for the first year.
Employees accrue four (4) hours of paid vacation year pay period.
Sick leave is frontloaded upon hire with forty (40) hours, after six (6) months employees will accrue four (4) hours per pay period.
